I never share breed health information to create fear. I share it because I love this breed deeply. Cavaliers are incredible dogs with some of the sweetest personalities you'll ever find, and they deserve owners who understand both the magic they bring and the health challenges they may face. Education helps owners recognize issues early, make informed decisions, and give their dogs the best possible care. That's why I share real experiences and information, not to be pessimistic, but to help others be prepared. I believe it's important to celebrate everything we love about this breed while also being honest about the challenges many owners may face. Being informed is one of the best ways we can care for them. Today, that reality feels especially personal. George's MVD has progressed since our last cardiology appointment. He now has a grade 3 murmur and has moved into Stage 2B. There have been plenty of tears, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't devastated watching this disease progress. But the best thing I can do is stay on top of his medical care, advocate for him, and continue giving him the happiest, most spoiled life possible. He is my world. And while I wish none of us had to navigate these diagnoses, sharing George's journey with this community has brought so much light, support, and purpose into my life.
