When you’ve got a gator by the tail, remember they can spin right around and bite your hand on the tail! This is something I teach early on when training an apprentice, I often see people get tunnel vision and death grip the tail, forgetting the gator will turn around and bite its own tail with your hand on it! I’ve seen this almost happen many times. Or they hold too tight and the force of the spin can throw you off balance or into the jaws. I don’t often get to show off my wild gator handling skills anymore since my focus is now on rescue and training, but it’s fun to remember my gladiator days🐊. Gaston was showing how excited he was for surgery yesterday! After this I caught him and we taped him up and had a successful surgery removing the foreign body in his colon.
