POV: You havenโ€™t seen your family in a year because you all live in different parts of the world and passport privilege is a real! The excitement, the screams, the surprises! Every one of these clips made my heart so happy ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ!!! We planned to meet so many times during the year but with multiple visas denied and passport issues, it made it so difficult. Iโ€™m so glad that we are able to meet here in Senegal. ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ณ My mom lives in Cameroon and my Sister lives in Texas. Itโ€™s been extremely hard for my Mom to get a visa to visit us in the U.S. or even meet us in Europe. And my sister was still waiting on her passport as she recently because a U.S. citizen so she couldnโ€™t travel. Senegal allows visa free entry for lots of countries, Cameroon and U.S. too, so we figured itโ€™ll be the best place for us to meet. This way there would be no drama with visas like before. Ps, having an American passport definitely gives me an immense amount of passport privilege. My Mom on the other hand with a Cameroonian passport has so many limitations and getting a visa cost so much and most of the time it doesnโ€™t even get granted after paying fees, making travel plans etc. As sad as it was to give up my Cameroonian passport, Iโ€™m thankful for my American passport and the privilege it gives me to travel the world! The most annoying part is even with a Cameroonian passport a visa is required to many other African countries. Ridiculous if you ask me๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพโ€โ™€๏ธ. When you travel with a passport that allows ease of entry into multiple countries with/without visas, itโ€™s important to consider the immense privilege you have!! โžก๏ธ Are you familiar with passport privilege? Whatโ€™s your home country and what has your experience been traveling with your passport? โžก๏ธ Have you had to navigate like we did to spend time with your family? โ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ #passportprivilege #themomtrottertravel #familytravel #multigenerationaltravel
