Same reason why locals never go to the tourists spots. You don’t see many Parisians wander under the Eiffel Tower or Italians around the coliseum.

Agreed. Visited many yrs ago, loved Central Park, Brooklyn bridge, Ellis Island & the bus tour all round was great, but Time Square was a bit meh.
