After learning this method you will know exactly what to say and do when a conversation gets awkward. Gone will be the days of looking back and cringing at how awkward a situation was. I'll start with a story that proves it. About a year ago I saw a girl walking to trees on a college campus to put up a hammock. I told my friend I liked her look, and he dared me to lay in her hammock with her. I asked her if I could help, she said yes, so then we had two people who didn't have a clue how to put this thing up. Eventuaping when itant awkward?

I'll start with a story that proves it. About a year ago I saw a girl walking to trees on a college campus to put up a hammock. I told my friend I liked her look, and he dared me to lay in her hammock with her. I asked her if I could help, she said yes, so then we had two people who didn't have a clue how to put this thing up. Eventuaping when itant awkward?" told her to sit with me, because "If this falls, we fall together." We sat for hours, getting to know each other deeply, and there was a moment where it was silence. Thad nothing to say, no response to her words, none on her end, and it was quiet. "How do you feel about silence?" I asked. It's a strange question but it turned into both of us agreeing that it felt connecting, and I told her how I love to keep the silence lingering, the anticipation is nice. This is the secret I haven't told you.. It's only awkward when you think it is awkward. Point it out (hence the "point" method) For most people the silence would be unbearable, they'd be embarrassed for not knowing how to keep the conversation going. But when you can bring up the thing that is awkward it breaks the awkwardness because you are leading it. When you share your reasoning for appreciating something deemed as "awkward" most people will agree with you for the simple fact that it becomes comforting. Some situations are awkward because of the weight of the topic, like if someone said their dad just died I wouldn't bring that up as awkward. In this situation I would say "I don't have any words, but I feel for you and I'm here" and I would be there for a sense of comfort. Follow for more tips about building deeper connections
