Whether you’ve had your micro bakery or social media platform for years, or you just started yesterday. It doesn’t matter. I feel like lately there have been some who have mentioned there has been a lot of noise surrounding sourdough lately. Some call it a trend, others going as far as calling it a cult (LOL.) Some never have baked anything in their lives and some even being bakers currently. Some say it with the intent to hurt, others don’t. But I can’t help wonder if it would have made me think twice if I was in the beginning stages of wanting to start my own micro bakery or social page. I’d probably think I missed the boat and it was too late to get started or that no one would want to see what I want to share because they have already seen it before. But the reality is, it’s not too late. In fact, I think the wonderful world of sourdough is just starting for a lot of people. Because the more micro bakeries there are, the more people learn about the power of sourdough. They learn most micro bakers are committed to the slow natural fermentation process, quality ingredients, and natural wild yeast, all of which yields a loaf of bread that is better for your body and one the local grocery store simply can’t mimic. The more of us there are, the more people come to learn to love sourdough and it’s one step closer to everyone having available to them bread that sustains the heart. So, if you want to get started, whether just learning the skill to provide for yourself and your family, scaling up into your own micro bakery, or taking your love for bread on social media, buckle up.
