A Wisconsin teenager accused of attacking his mother with a 2-foot-long hedge trimmer will remain in adult court after a judge rejected his request to have the case moved to juvenile court. Ramone Waupoose, 17, is accused of attacking his mother inside their Suamico home in July 2025. Prosecutors charged him with attempted first-degree intentional h*micide with a dangerous weapon and first-degree reckless injury with a dangerous weapon. According to a criminal complaint, Waupoose allegedly became extremely angry after authorities returned him home following a two-day runaway incident. His mother told police he was also upset because she had deleted rap videos from his YouTube account. She said his behavior became increasingly concerning. Waupoose allegedly became hostile, paced around the house and appeared increasingly suspicious. His mother told investigators she became so frightened that she gathered up kitchen knives, sharp utensils and other tools and locked them inside her car. She also monitored him through security cameras. At one point, she allegedly saw Waupoose enter the garage and search around a toolbox and a mattress. Investigators believe he found a pair of pruning shears hidden behind the mattress. Prosecutors allege Waupoose later turned off the power inside the home and lured his mother toward an electrical box before attacking her with the hedge trimmer. Police reportedly found b1ood near the shears, and the mother suffered injuries to her face, head, arms and back. She managed to escape the home with her 12-year-old son, Waupoose’s younger brother, and they drove away. Prosecutors also say investigators found messages on Waupoose’s phone discussing plans to k!ll his ex-girlfriend and allegedly send a video of himself k!lling his mother and brother. During Tuesday’s hearing, Waupoose’s mother told the judge she believed her son would receive better treatment in juvenile court. But the judge ruled that the treatment available through the juvenile system would be inadequate given the seriousness of the alleged offense and Waupoose’s needs. Waupoose will therefore remain in adult court. He is scheduled to return on Oct. 27 for a status conference. The allegations against him have not been proven in court. What do you think about the judge’s decision? 👀 #TrueCrime #CrimeNews #WisconsinCrime #TeenCrime #LawAndCrime
