Its just in the US you live off the tips. In Europe its just a small bonus when and if it happens.

At fancy restaurants we (my family) normally tip €50 but at a normal dinner we don't really tip.👀

It’s expected to tip 20% in NYC bc a servers wage is lower than minimum wage. So a server in NYC would never ask if we were ok with a 20% tip.

One time I gave a waitress 25% tip because I didn't want to count to 20% she refused the tip and forced me to pay 12% instead because it was 2 much 😅
