spend 3 minutes making a meal from the garden with me :) hi everyone, a little bit different this style of video compared to normal, but I happened to be cat sitting at my sister’s house recently and wanted to make something out of the last produce from the summer season. i am no gardener, but as i mentioned she is letting a lot of the crop go to seed which essentially means after some plants have flowered and died off (which is why they need to be overgrown) they will bear seeds and can be used for future planting purposes. the other plants that bear fruit will just be let to die off so when she does a garden clean up the roots and ecosystem of the garden will remain intact. collecting seeds from a successful crop will let her restart the cycle the following spring! now for what i made, i chose a really simple and healthy meal because i wanted to show off the organic produce from the garden and how you can make something delicious just enhancing the flavors of the ingredients you choose for yourself. finding local fresh produce is often difficult but when you have the option it makes a huge difference. i made a pan seared chicken thigh which i started in a cold pan on medium heat, that way i rendered all of the fat and got it super crispy gradually frying in its own fat. then after basting with butter and fresh herbs I used the remaining oil to blister sungolds and release their juice as the base of a cream based sauce to accompany. on the side we had some roasted potatoes just seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, thyme, and rosemary alongside a super fresh and crispy tomato and pepper salad dressed with lemon juice and topped with nasturtium flowers which are really delicious. i had a lot of fun making this video, and even if it only reaches a few of you, I hope for all of you that enjoy it you were able to take yourself away from the business of everything surrounding you. there is nothing like being by yourself doing something you really appreciate from start to finish and i hope you were able to feel that sort of happiness i had cooking myself a meal and sharing my time with you all :D should i do more of these? #fyp #asmr #cooking #relaxing #garden
