The story of the drowned girl from the River Seine, famously known as L’Inconnue de la Seine, is one of the most haunting and mysterious tales from Paris. In the late 19th century, the body of a young girl was pulled from the Seine River, her identity unknown, yet her face appeared strangely peaceful. A fascinated pathologist at the Paris morgue created a death mask of her serene expression. This mask, capturing the delicate and lifelike features of the unidentified girl, became one of the most iconic mannequin faces in history, inspiring countless artists, sculptors, and eventually becoming the model for CPR mannequins worldwide. Over the years, L’Inconnue de la Seine transformed from an anonymous drowned girl into a global cultural symbol. Her mannequin face, often referred to as the “most kissed face in history,” is used in life-saving CPR training under the name Resusci Anne. The mysterious allure of her calm, almost smiling expression continues to captivate people, making her one of the most reproduced faces ever. The legacy of the girl who drowned in the River Seine lives on, blending tragedy, art, and science into an unforgettable story that still draws attention and curiosity worldwide. #timeless #beauty #girl #paris #immortal
