Mommy's Little Boy – Special Chapter The Dream Wasn't Real “Why did you give me a family…” Jennie's voice trembled. “…if I was only going to wake up without them?” Her tears fell endlessly. She hugged the pillow tighter, wishing she could go back to the dream. Wishing she could see Lisa. Wishing she could hear Calix call her Mommy one more time. Then— “Mommy!” Jennie's eyes suddenly opened. She gasped. Her heart was pounding. The hospital room was gone. There was no white ceiling. No IV. No machines. No crying mother sitting beside her. Instead, Jennie was in her bedroom. Sunlight was coming through the curtains. She sat up quickly. “Lisa?” Silence. Jennie's heart immediately dropped. “Calix?” She got out of bed and hurried toward the door. “Lisa!” Then she heard something. Laughter. Familiar laughter. Coming from downstairs. Jennie froze. She listened. There it was again. Lisa. And Calix. Laughing together. Jennie's eyes immediately filled with tears. “No…” She rushed downstairs. As she reached the kitchen, she saw them. Lisa was standing by the counter, laughing as Calix tried to sneak a piece of food from the plate. “Calix! That's for breakfast!” “But Mama!” “You already ate two!” Jennie stood at the entrance. Alive. Both of them. Lisa. Calix. Her family. For a moment, she couldn't move. Then Lisa noticed her. “Good morning, Mommy—” Jennie suddenly ran toward her. “Lisa!” Lisa barely had time to react before Jennie wrapped both arms around her. “Woah—” Jennie buried her face into Lisa's neck. And then she cried. Hard. Lisa immediately stopped smiling. “Jennie?” Jennie only held her tighter. She pressed her face against Lisa's neck, sobbing as if she'd been holding all those tears for years. Lisa gently wrapped her arms around her. “Baby, what's wrong?” Jennie couldn't answer. She just cried. Calix stood beside them, completely confused. “Mommy?” Jennie heard his voice. That tiny voice. The same voice she thought she had lost. Her arms tightened around Lisa. “Calix…” The little boy looked up at her. “Why is Mommy crying?” Lisa looked at him, then back at Jennie. “I don't know, baby.” Jennie finally lifted her head. Her cheeks were wet with tears. She looked at Calix. He was standing right there. Alive. Safe. Real. Jennie immediately pulled him into the hug. ⬇️⬇️ #jenlisa #jenlisa_story #xybcz #blowthisup #unflopme
