Turtle Soup Strategy Using IFVG & CISD ICT SMC | IFVG + CISD Turtle Soup Trading Model | Smart Money Turtle Soup Strategy (ICT/SMC) Using IFVG + CISD + Liquidity What is Turtle Soup? The Turtle Soup setup is a fake breakout strategy. Price takes liquidity above highs or below lows, traps breakout traders, then reverses strongly. In ICT/SMC, this strategy works best when combined with: Liquidity Sweep IFVG (Inverse Fair Value Gap) CISD (Change in State of Delivery) This creates a high-probability reversal setup. Core Concepts 1. Liquidity Liquidity usually sits: Above old highs Below old lows Equal highs/lows Session highs/lows Smart money often attacks these areas first before reversing price. 2. IFVG (Inverse Fair Value Gap) An IFVG is a failed FVG. Example: Bullish FVG fails → becomes bearish IFVG Bearish FVG fails → becomes bullish IFVG It shows: Market imbalance failure Shift in order flow Possible reversal zone 3. CISD (Change in State of Delivery) CISD means the market delivery changes: From bullish to bearish Or bearish to bullish Usually confirmed by: Strong displacement candle Market structure shift Aggressive candle close This confirms smart money reversal after liquidity grab. Bullish Turtle Soup Setup Step-by-Step 1. Identify Sell-Side Liquidity Look for: Equal lows Previous day low Asian session low Swing low Price should raid these lows. 2. Wait for Liquidity Sweep Price must: Break below the lows Trap sellers Create stop hunt This is the “Turtle Soup” trap. 3. Watch for CISD After the sweep: Strong bullish displacement appears Market structure shifts bullish Candle closes aggressively upward This confirms delivery change. 4. Identify Bullish IFVG Now wait for: Bearish FVG failure Price reclaiming imbalance IFVG acting as support This becomes your entry zone. 5. Entry Enter: On IFVG retest Or lower timeframe confirmation 6. Stop Loss Place SL: Below liquidity sweep low 7. Take Profit Targets: Internal liquidity Old highs Opposite liquidity pool Risk-to-reward: 1:2 1:3 Or higher Bearish Turtle Soup Setup Step-by-Step 1. Identify Buy-Side Liquidity Look for: Equal highs Previous day high Session highs Swing highs 2. Liquidity Grab Price breaks above highs: Traps buyers Takes stop losses Creates false breakout 3. CISD Confirmation Then: Strong bearish displacement occurs Structure shifts bearish Delivery changes downward 4. Bearish IFVG Look for: Bullish FVG failure Price rejecting imbalance IFVG acting as resistance 5. Entry Enter: On IFVG retest 6. Stop Loss Place SL: Above liquidity sweep high 7. Targets Take profit at: Sell-side liquidity Old lows Internal range liquidity Best Time to Trade This setup works best during: London Open New York Open NY AM session Avoid: Low volatility sessions Random ranging markets Additional Confirmation Extra confirmations improve accuracy: SMT divergence Premium/discount zones Session liquidity Market structure shift Displacement candles Common Mistakes ❌ Entering before liquidity sweep ❌ Ignoring CISD confirmation ❌ Trading against higher timeframe bias ❌ Entering in consolidation ❌ Ignoring session timing Simple Strategy Formula Bullish Sell-side liquidity sweep → CISD bullish → Bullish IFVG retest → Buy Bearish Buy-side liquidity sweep → CISD bearish → Bearish IFVG retest → Sell Important Note “Turtle Soup” was originally introduced by Linda Bradford Raschke, not by ICT. However, many ICT/SMC traders combine Turtle Soup with: Liquidity concepts FVGs Market structure CISD Session manipulation to build modern smart money reversal setups. #ICT #SMC #TurtleSoup #IFVG #CISD
