I used to think I was ready for exams because I'd read my notes three times and everything
I used to think I was ready for exams because I'd read my notes three times and everything "made sense." then I'd sit down for the actual test and blank on questions I swore I knew. so I started testing readiness a different way, these are the 4 checks that actually tell you. 1. explain without notes — pick a topic, close everything, and teach it out loud like you're explaining it to someone who's never heard of it. the second you hesitate or start saying "um" a lot, that's the exact spot you don't actually know. it's uncomfortable but it's the most honest test there is. 2. mix question types — don't practice one topic at a time in order. shuffle it. if you can only get questions right when you know which chapter they're from, you don't know the material, you know the order of your notes. 3. get tested by morso — I upload my notes or pick the topic I'm shakiest on and it quizzes me directly on the material, not just generic questions. it's the fastest way to find out what I actually don't know instead of guessing. 4. practise against the clock — this is the one people skip. set a real timer and do it. knowing the answer in your head and producing it under time pressure are two different skills, and the exam only tests the second one. if you can do all four without panicking, you're actually ready. if even one of them exposes a gap, that's not a bad sign, that's just found you a problem three days early instead of during the exam. save this before your next test 🔖 #studytok #examseason #StudyTips #claim #college
