🪢 LOWER EXTREMITY NERVE FLOSSING 🪢 If stretching or strengthening exercises aren’t resolving the muscle tightness and/or pain you’ve been feeling in your lower body, you might want to do some nerve flossing! 🔐SAVE THIS if you have tightness or pain in your lower extremities (hamstrings, calves, ankles) Nerve flossing, also known as nerve gliding or neural mobilization, is a therapeutic exercise approach that targets the peripheral nerves in your lower extremities, such as the sciatic nerve. So, how does it work? 🤔 When nerves become compressed or irritated due to various factors like injury, inflammation, or repetitive motions, they can contribute to muscle tightness and pain. Nerve flossing aims to reduce this compression and irritation by promoting proper nerve gliding and improving the overall function of the nervous system. Whether you're an athlete seeking enhanced performance, a fitness enthusiast recovering from an injury, or simply someone looking for relief from everyday discomfort, nerve flossing can be a valuable addition to your wellness toolkit. Here are 4 simple nerve glides you can do: Sciatic- raise leg while keeping it straight until you feel tension then relax foot going down Sural nerve- foot in, flex toes towards you Tibial- bring foot out, flex toes towards you Peroneal/fibular-foot in, point toes away DO NOT do more than 10 reps at a time (can do 2 sets of 10); do these 2-3x/day ⚠️DISCLAIMER: This is for educational purposes only! Nerves can get super irritated if you mobilize them too much. It’s important to consult with a chiropractor or other qualified healthcare professional to learn the proper technique and ensure it's suitable for your individual needs. 🤍LIKE if this was informative ♻️SHARE this with someone who needs it! #nerveflossing #nervepain #sciaticpainrelief #sciatica #backpain
