don’t worry he/she should be fine!! cats do this when they eat something unusual for example something they don’t usually eat. I know you said he ate something, but cats can also fish at the mouth because of stress!

my cats do this all the time when they catch frogs outside. we just take the frogs away from them and they will stop foaming after a few minutes
