Sunflower oil is very neutral and carries no flavor of its own and mackerel itself is not fishy, I find it pretty mild. This tin isn’t very salty and can definitely handle some sauces and condiments. There is a slight metallic aftertaste if you pause to notice it, but this isn’t noticeable if you’re not eating it alone straight out of the can. Texture 7️⃣ The mackerel fillets are generous and always intact. The texture is very firm with large flakes and chunks. I think this would be great in pasta or other cooked applications as it holds together well. Price 9️⃣ At $2.99 this was pretty much the least expensive mackerel product I would come across.
