You need to know this 👇🏼 I just turned a few sensible thoughts into some sort of an unhinged poem. Mmmm 🌀 feels good to be creative. My message to you - YOU ARE NOT RUNNING BEHIND!!! Don’t let anything or anyone tell you that you are. You are exactly where you need to be. The perpetual panic you feel is a big fat lie fed by the chronic overconsumption of other people’s lives. I remember learning about globalisation in Geography lessons at school, and that was cool, but this new wave of algorithmic chaos and open ended voyeurism is next level stressful. It’s not good for our nervous system. It’s not culturally enlightening. I want to go back to a time where I see the things that the people I respect and admire have created The ones I might actually bump into on the street Not a lot of noise Hot air From a phone a million miles away Sometimes it feels like they’re on another planet. Maybe they are. Maybe they’re a machine. I don’t want to be a sheep, I don’t like watching things that make me feel like I must follow, censor, or redirect my own vision. I don’t want to lose my identity and my creativity. I like to feel inspired, not brain altered and to be honest, I don’t even consume that much. But I’ve consumed enough to know that we now live in an echo chamber where people NOW feel like they’re behind. And that makes me sad. So I want to remind you (we) that we’re not. Every good thing in life takes time. If it didn’t the reward would be vapid I speak from experience. I’ve had it all, I’ve had nothing at all. I’ve moved quickly and unimaginably slowly I’ve stopped even And neither was actually better than the other. Neither felt like ‘completion’. Because I still had to exist knowing the future was in front of me and that was out of my control Some believe our destiny is pre determined. Look at the block theory. So lose the fear and start enjoying instead. It’s not a race. You are not behind. You are exactly where you need to be. PS.
