I feel like The Last Jedi was relatively original. It was a bit jarring, but it took the series in a fresh direction. But then that was mostly undone.

1st Trilogy had the best Storyline & Acting. Prequels had best Design & Aesthetics but Final trilogy failed to establish itself & relied too much on

I completely agree. I saw that an earlier version of the stories involved a lot of this (i.e. light side is problematic too) but they scrapped it 😕
