APUs are kinda the same thing. there a little Kubota motor that charges your battery's, runs your ac or heat. don't need to run your truck for ac.

We got 3 trucks and all of them have em and in one we have a Espar thing too that can go in the motor so when it’s cold out it warms up the motor

Wonder if you could get like solar panels and then have a outlet plug in that could use the energy collected from the day to power a heater or cooler
