Turbo’d diesels require cool down time, period. Exhaust is designed to take more heat yes but that’s not the whole point of the cool down

I drive a 2020 frieghtliner and they said to let it run for 10 minutes before shutdown.

Even the 1999 f250 7.3 PS I used to have, the manual says to let idle to allow the turbo to cool before shutting the engine.
