My dad once told he was canned in primary back in the late 70s. The scar was still there up until he was married. Makes our punishments seem soft

my grandmother, who went to school in England and ireland in 40s and 50s, was caught chewing gum and they made her wear it on her nose

My grandad said when he was in school in the 50s - 60s it was sometimes either 6 on the palm of your hand or 4 on the backside. 😬

Still happens in some states. I know some schools in Texas have it. It’s just not as common even when schools use it. Mainly southern states

Sadly this lasted until the 1992 in former Yugoslavia. I was beaten multiple times by my teacher back then and my classmates too 🥺🥺🥺
