ask them to flush the meter and do a NTU/Color test, they have a range they do have to cover to the home. if not call the health dept.

Just fixed the same issue. It was a dead end 2 inch main. Ended up boring a line down the next street and tapping the 8 inch main making it a loop

Request a blowoff to be installed if your on a dead end and there is no water line I’m assuming if your on a dead end it’s a older line 2 to 4” main?

They probably can’t put a fire hydrant on it if your at the end of the line. Cause you probably are branched off the main. Most likely a 3/4 or 1”

if ur able to convince the city, they make devices that can be installed that flush dead end lines every couple hours (programmable) automatically

Happens a lot on dead end lines. Water distribution crews are supposed to flush fire hydrants on a certain schedule to keep this from happening often
