That’s a good insight. We don’t think about volunteering to work the polls. Our grannies do though and we have to help them out. We know better.

This is one of the biggest problems to me. These retired ppl have all the time in the world and we have to work so it’s left to them to arrange it all

I am the youngest poll worker in my county and I am 51. Most are at least 20 years older than me.

That’s why I am working at the polls this election because we got to support these older poll workers. God bless them!!🥰🥰🥰

OMG My husband voted Monday and told me the exact same thing . We live in Georgia. It took him 4 hours to get his vote cast. Lots of open booths...😳

My 70+ yo parents work the polls because they have free time (retired)! I work 40hrs and might be able to volunteer one or two days... 🤔

In CA you have to be available October 28-04 plus 3 training days. Most people who can do it are retired.

they probably just need better training 🤷‍♀️. The older poll workers I usually see in GA got game. Early voting for me only took TEN minutes 😊

My poll worker training day was filled with people around my age (20s) which was inspiring to see.

I tried to sign up but there was a wait list. I have a feeling the older volunteers signed up first which blocked new volunteers

And that’s why I always encourage young people to work at the polls ALL THE TIME! It really does help!
