My own mom said this. CHILDREN are borrowed, they r not yours. you gave them life but they don’t belong to you and you have to be ok, w/ independence

My parents were the opposite, they tried to keep me as dependent on them as humanly possible, because that meant control!

Uh I see this in my fam. Kid wants to go to certain college (too far from mom), kid wants drivers license (mom can take him), etc. he is not well 🥺

I always say if you’re good at your job you phase yourself out of a job. I miss my kids being little but honestly having co dependent adults is worse.

Yes!!!! I’m amazed by the people who walk around the car to let their 4th grader out in the school drop off line. It all starts there. 😉
