I couldn't push on my back with my first, it felt wrong. L&D staff called me a difficult patient. Oh well!

I’m going through the same thing. My daughter had to have surgery on her shoulder to fix it bc they forced me to push on my back with the epidural

I rotate my patients with epidurals during pushing. every 15 minutes or less we change positions for pushing. I tell them rotisserie chicken style 😂

This! Pushing on your back fights gravity and causes a more narrow pelvis. All fours or squatting open your pelvis and help baby.

As a L&D nurse, shoulder dystocia is an unpredictable/unpreventable emergency. This is false information, it is not dependent on your position.

I birthed pretty much upright. I was on one knee and one foot and I felt like the baby practically fell out! I will never birth on my back!

actually, the way we give birth is all because one king liked to see his kids being born, while before, 'cow' or standing was the way to get it done

I did 80% of my pushing standing but then laid down because I got tired and my baby also got stuck, so next time I’m waiting for FER and staying up😂

actually we're not supposed to push on our back. We're supposed to be siting or squatting so gravity can help

I took early childhood education classes in high school and they actually recommend for you to be squatting or even standing up when giving birth 🤰
