GLP1s are everywhere right now and I know how confusing that can feel especially if you’ve struggled with your weight for a long time and you’re finally seeing something that promises relief from the constant hunger and food noise. I’ve been around this space for a long time, I’ve lost 160 pounds myself, and I also tried a GLP1 back in 2018. I lost weight fast, came off it, and gained it all back plus more because nothing else in my life actually changed. THAT is the part I care about most. GLP1s can lower appetite and make eating less feel easier, and for some people that can be genuinely life changing. But eating less for a period of time doesn’t automatically build habits, routine, or consistency. It doesn’t teach you how to fuel your body, keep muscle on, move regularly, or handle real life when motivation drops and things get messy. If the only thing changing is how much you’re eating, it makes sense that the results only last as long as the medication does. I am all for anything that helps someone lose weight sustainably. This post is just a reminder that tools can help, but they don’t replace the basics. At the end of the day I don’t think GLP1s are right or wrong or good or bad. I think they’re a tool and like any tool, what matters is what you’re building while you’re using it.
