Husband goes to work… what DIY can I do to surprise him with 😂 he loves it really 😆 DIY PANELLING GUIDE: You will need: dado rails in your choice of design / width, no more nails glue, caulk, mdf primer, wall paint & paint brushes, pencil & paper, tape measure GUIDE 📐 1) Measure the width of your wall and take note of the measurement on paper (it helps to draw the wall out & the panelling and label the design with the measurements) 2) Decide how high you want your middle rail to be. This is your preference! I went for 1.2m 3) Decide roughly from looking at your wall how many squares you want to create. This is preference, my wall isn’t too big so 3 was enough. 4)Decide roughly how much space you would want in-between each panel, again this is preference. 10cm is often a good ball park. Note down this on your drawing for every gap, including the one between the wall and the first panel, and the last panel and the end of the wall. 5) Once you have noted down every gap, add those amounts up. For example, mine was 10+10+10+10. Get the total distance of your wall and take off the gap amount. For example, 260cm - 40cm. 6) whatever you are left with, is the number you need to divide equally between however many panels you’re having. If you’re having 3 panels like me, use the total amount you were left with and divide it into 3. Whatever this equals, is how long each panel needs to be. For example in my case, 260-40 =220. 220 divided by 3 = 73cm - remember this includes the width of your dado rail. If you want to find out the gap inside, take off the width of your dado rail for each side. 7) Now decide roughly how far you want your panels to be from the skirting board & the dado rail - gain preference - just make sure it’s the same either side. For example 6cm. Take the height of your wall from skirting board to dado rail (1.2m in my case) and take off the gap between each panel starting and ending. Whatever you’re left with is the height for each panel! Do your cuts & then glue, caulk & prime! What do you think? Kat xxxxx #d#diypanellingd#diydecord#diyhomedecorgirldiy
