While it may seem like Art is just another one of those “fluffy” classes, there are HUGE benefits to encouraging your child to be creative at home.🙌 Here is WHY a foundation in ART education is essential to a child’s growth and well being⤵️: 👉It fosters problem solving skills. Makes sense, right? If you give your child an “art prompt,” they have a problem to solve. How are they going to do it? What skills do they already have that will help them? For example, if you tell your child to draw a pirate, they might think, “Hmm, ok. Well I’m really good at drawing people, so I’ll start there and turn it into a pirate. 👉It helps children “think outside the box.” In art, there is often more than one way to get from “Point A to Point B.” They might come up with a completely “out of the box” method to complete their drawing/project. This is always SO awesome to see. This skill is one that will translate into other aspects of their life as they grow. 👉It helps to grow their confidence. If you as the MOM, can give them prompts, simple materials, and the space to create successfully, they will rise to the occasion. This will boost their confidence every time. Let’s look at how all these qualities will translate into real life and adulthood.💪🧐 So Moms, if you have a child who just wants to draw or create, remember to foster that.
