Lisa adjusted the cuff of her gray suit as the phone vibrated in her hand. She didn’t even glance at the screen before answering. “Hey, babe.” Jennie, lounging on the cream-colored sofa in nothing but a silk slip dress, lazily lifted one leg and rested her foot against Lisa’s thigh, stopping her from walking away. Lisa didn’t even look at her. “Yeah… I’ll be home soon.” A woman’s voice echoed faintly from the speaker. “Did you eat already?” Lisa smiled. “I’ll wait for you.” Jennie’s jaw tightened. The smile. She had never smiled at Jennie like that. Lisa gently pushed Jennie’s foot aside as if it were nothing more than an obstacle. “I’m still at the office.” Jennie almost laughed. The office. That was what Lisa called this luxury penthouse. Their bed. Their kisses. Their lies. Lisa ended the call and slipped the phone back into her pocket. “My wife worries too much.” Jennie stared at her. “You really said you’re at work.” “I am working.” Jennie let out a dry chuckle. “By sleeping with your mistress?” Lisa shrugged without a hint of guilt. “Don’t start.” Those two words snapped something inside Jennie. “I canceled dates.” “I ignored people.” “I waited for you every damn night.” “And you still go home to her.” Lisa sighed as though Jennie was the one being unreasonable. “I told you from the beginning.” “I wasn’t leaving my wife.” Silence. Jennie looked at her, hoping… Just hoping… For even the smallest trace of regret. There was none. Lisa checked her watch. “I should go.” Jennie blinked. “That’s it?” Lisa picked up her car keys. “My wife hates sleeping alone.” The words hit harder than a slap. Jennie laughed. Not because it was funny. Because crying would’ve been too pathetic. “So what am I?” Lisa answered without hesitation. “My escape.” Jennie’s smile disappeared. Escape. Not love. Not home. Just… An escape. As Lisa reached the door, Jennie’s voice stopped her. “Does she know?” Lisa paused. “No.” “Would you choose her…” “…if she found out?” Lisa didn’t even need to think. “Of course.” Jennie nodded slowly. That answer hurt less than the hope she’d been carrying for months. Because hope… Was finally dead. Lisa opened the door. “Oh.” She looked back. “Don’t text me tonight.” “My wife and I are celebrating our anniversary.” The door closed. Click. Jennie stood alone in the silent penthouse. She looked around the expensive apartment Lisa had bought. Designer furniture. City lights. Luxury. Everything except love. Her phone buzzed. A message from Lisa. “Don’t overthink it. I’ll see you next week.” Jennie stared at the screen for a long time. Then… She blocked Lisa’s number. For the first time… Lisa didn’t notice. She was too busy driving home To the woman she called “my wife.”#jenlisa #mistress #ai #kpop #fypシ
