I clean mine regularly. it is roughly 8-12" long. Doesn't seem to accumulate like in this photo... in fact it only builds up on the flapper/cover.

These fires peak in January and often happen overnight while family sleeps! If your dryer is hot to the touch, clean the vent!!

I recommend MAGILINT for cleaning the dryer as well. Drying time has dropped considerably! I bought it from Amazon.

at least twice a year. It used to be more but we had a vent replaced thst was causing issues due to poor installation

yes!! my dryer was not drying clothing properly. it was taking 4-5 cycles to dry 1 load of clothes until my dryer vent was cleaned.
