The rightwing Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) summit, dubbed the
The rightwing Alliance for Responsible Citizenship (ARC) summit, dubbed the "anti-woke Davos", says it seeks to "re-lay the foundations of our civilisation”. The summit, co-founded by Jordan Peterson, brought together in London anti-abortionists, Trump administration officials, global rightwing figures and their multi-millionaire backers  – as protesters from Fossil Free London gathered outside. The Guardian's political correspondent Ben Quinn, who attended the event, breaks down the key figures at the controversial event where speakers included the Reform leader, Nigel Farage, the US undersecretary of state for public diplomacy, Sarah B Rogers, who has attacked policies on hate speech and immigration, and Kevin Roberts, the president of the Heritage Foundation, a leading thinktank on the American rightwing.  A strong US anti-abortion presence at the three-day summit also included more than a dozen representatives of the Alliance Defending Freedom, the conservative legal advocacy group behind the overturning of Roe v Wade in the US, which is ramping up its activities in Britain. Christian evangelical political thinking was one of the strongest guiding themes of the conference alongside hostility to net zero – on the hottest day of the year so far – and multiculturalism and a fear of shrinking populations in the west. As Quinn explains, this group is diverse – but “they're very eager to meet each other as well. They feel that the tide is rising for them.” Find out more about the people who attended by heading to the link in bio.
