Flat ducts allow less flow and more lint build up. Performance is not as good.

there is a magnetic one you put on the wall and the dryer. when you slide it back it goes together

This is just for aesthetics! Reality is more expensive and most homes have the dryer in a very narrow locations where you can’t to this.
