don’t think people really understand what’s happening inside these detention centers… Because if they did… they wouldn’t be so quiet about it. This isn’t just about my dad. This is about human beings being treated like they don’t matter. My dad calls us… and I can hear it in his voice. The exhaustion. The pain. The fear. And the part that breaks me the most? He told us to stop calling to get him medical help. Stop calling. My dad is sitting there with an infected wisdom tooth… in pain… every single day… and he would rather suffer in silence than risk being treated worse. What does that tell you? What kind of place makes someone feel like asking for help is dangerous? His clothes got stolen. He feels like when we speak up, they retaliate. So now he has to sit there and think… “Do I stay in pain… or do I speak up and make things worse for myself?” No one should ever have to make that choice. No one. And he’s not the only one. There are people in there who cry themselves to sleep at night. People who literally say, “I just want to go home.” Grown men… broken down to that point. And you want to call them criminals? For what? For wanting a better life? For wanting safety? For wanting more for their families? Since when did that become something that deserves punishment like this? And what hurts even more… is that there are people inside those walls who are too scared to even talk about what’s happening to them. Because they’re afraid of retaliation. They’re afraid that if they speak up… they’ll be treated even worse. That is not a system. That is fear. That is silence being forced on people. And meanwhile, people on the outside say… “Well, they’re illegal.” Okay. And?? Does that mean they don’t deserve medical care? Does that mean they don’t deserve basic human decency? Does that mean they deserve to be in pain… ignored… and afraid? Because that’s what’s happening. This is not about politics. This is not about opinions. This is about humanity. My dad is not a number. He is not a label. He is a person. A husband. A father. A man who has worked his whole life and still chose to risk everything to protect his family. And now he’s sitting in a place where he feels like his voice doesn’t matter… where asking for help feels dangerous… where pain is something he just has to endure. And that breaks me. Because no one deserves that. No one deserves to feel forgotten, scared, and in pain… while the world just keeps scrolling. So if you’re watching this… please don’t just scroll. Listen. Share. Speak up. Because the only thing worse than what’s happening in there… is people acting like it’s normal
