Cortisol is the body’s primary stress hormone, released by the adrenal glands in response to signals by the ANS.   It’s vital for our body to function, but it also needs to be shut off when not in use.  Chronic activation of the sympathetic nervous system due to airway resistance in the cranial fascial bones, instability in the pelvis, dysregulation of the cranial nerves, physical traumas, florescent lighting and no natural sunlight, poor sleep patterns, and unhealthy habits keep the cortisol levels high leading to fascia stiffness, pain and systemic inflammation over time. If you have high #cortisol levels its a tall tell sign that you’ve been in prolonged sympathetic state in your body.  And it keeps your body in a loop of poor tissue recovery.  Not too mention cortisol breaks down collagen. Supporting the structure of the body and balancing the parasympathetic to sympathetic allows fascia and connective tissue to regenerate more effectively.  You have to get to the bottom of what’s keeping the system in a state of fight or flight, balance the ENTIRE nervous system, not just the vagus nerve( waste of time).  They ALL work together. If someone has airway restriction, they will always be in fight or flight, its a survival tactic.  So healing the airway will be a big component structurally and neurologically. Heal from unhealthy habits and relationships, get off the constant hamster wheel, get in nature, move your body, hydrate and feed your temple.
