This is backwards though. You are punching the holes in reverse of how the item will hang. It won't be level once you flip your item to hang.

The cardboard helps to stabilize the level. This is a great way to hang those pesky floating shelves.

But the holes would be inverted. 😳 Because when you turn the object being hung, the holes would be reversed. Holes might be slightly off.
