I am a big Mexican food lover but I don’t have a ton of experience with Peruvian food. When I saw a place not too far from the city was serving both, I had to make the trip! El Tule in Lamberville, NJ, just over the bridge from New Hope is for sure an awesome spot. The outdoor area is stunning and it feels like an oasis! The restaurant is BYOB but they have amazing drinks that are classic to Mexico and Peru, like a Passionfruit drink and Horchata! We started out with Tostones, and the chicken was so well-seasoned, every bite was amazing! The Shrimp Tostones was so light and had such a lovely citrus flavor! The Red Snapper was amazing and so tender, and the sauce was so good I could’ve drank it! 😂 The Chimichurri was THE BEST I ever had, so balanced and really brought out the freshness of the steak and shrimp. Both entrees came with Tacu Tacu, a traditional way of serving rice and beans in Peru. We ended with the most perfect Flan, and some delicious Fried Dough with ice cream! This may have been one of the first times I’ve had peruvian cuisine but it wont be my last!
