Iv had issues with tbem molding when they are set on top of soil. Iv found tbem to be most effect when they are mixed with water then strained.

If you put them on the top of your soil, watch for mold. You’ll have moldy mosquito bits with fungus gnats crawling all over them. It’s gross.

They didn’t work for me. I ended up repotting everything and putting a layer of sand on top for a couple of months. Plus yellow sticky traps.

I had fungus gnats for MONTHS last summer/fall. Those things multiply quickly, and are so hard to kill! Didn’t know about mosquitoe bits.
