there's an Easier way,. Google sighthound comes with free 1 camera licence. license plate car identify and people face capture. for RTSP stream DM

In the UK we have databases that let you look up stolen cars. If you could mount this in the dash + run it real time you could catch loads of them

This is neat, but what would be really helpful is a camera/software that automatically zooms in and takes a high res photo of plates and drivers.

I own a CREtech software platform, we have integrations with OpenALPR, max reliable distance with 4K is 20ft unless it’s tuned very well for lighting.
