The quiet gazebo at the edge of the park was illuminated only by the warm glow of fairy lights. Lisa’s heart was hammering, her hands trembling as she pulled out a small black velvet box. Jennie blinked, her eyes brimming with tears as she looked down at the simple gold band inside. "Lisa... what is this?" Jennie whispered, her voice shaking. "Jennie Kim, I know we don't have everything figured out yet," Lisa said, dropping to one knee. "I know the world is loud, and our families are complicated. But I love you. I want to build a life with you. Will you marry me?" Jennie let out a breathless sob, kneeling in front of her. She wrapped her arms tightly around Lisa’s neck, burying her face into her shoulder. "Yes! Oh my god, yes, Lisa! A thousand times yes!" Jennie cried, pressing sweet kisses all over Lisa's face. Lisa laughed as she slid the ring onto Jennie’s finger. "You're mine, Nini." "Always, Lili. Only yours." The soft chime of church bells shattered the memory. Lisa stood in the dark shadows of the balcony overlooking the cathedral. Below, organ music echoed off the marble walls. Flowers—white roses, Jennie’s least favorite—lined the aisle. Jennie’s father stood beside her near the grand entrance, holding her arm tightly. "Smile, Jennie," her father instructed under his breath, his voice cold. "The cameras are everywhere. The Kim and Han merger depends on this." Jennie stared straight ahead, her face a pale mask. "I'm doing what you asked, Dad. You don't get to tell me how to feel." "You're marrying a good man. Marco Han will give you stability, not empty dreams," her father snapped softly. "Now fix your posture." Jennie didn't answer. Her thumb absently traced the outline of the gold band hidden beneath her glove—the ring Lisa had given her three weeks ago. Across the altar, Marco stood in a black tuxedo, smiling smugly as the double doors swung open. The organ swelled, and Jennie began her walk down the aisle. Up in the shadows, Lisa gripped the railing until her knuckles turned white, refusing to let a single tear drop. Jennie reached the altar. Her father handed her over to Marco, who took her hand with a polite smile. "You look beautiful, Jennie." "Thank you, Marco," Jennie said flatly. The priest opened his holy book, his deep voice carrying through the silent cathedral. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today..." Every word felt like a blow to Lisa's chest. She wanted to run down and pull Jennie away, but she remembered Jennie’s tearful plea three nights ago: “If I don’t do this, they’ll ruin you, Lisa. My father will destroy your family’s business. Please, just let me protect you.” "Do you, Marco Han, take Jennie Kim to be your lawfully wedded wife?" the priest asked. "I do," Marco replied confidently. The priest turned to Jennie. The entire church held its breath. "And do you, Jennie Kim, take Marco Han to be your lawfully wedded husband? To love and to cherish, in sickness and in health, for as long as you both shall live?" Jennie stood frozen. "Jennie?" Marco murmured, his smile wavering slightly. Jennie tilted her head up, her eyes sweeping toward the upper balcony. Through the shadows, her eyes locked directly onto Lisa's. A single tear slipped down Jennie's cheek. Lisa squeezed her eyes shut, shaking her head as if to say, I'm sorry. Jennie swallowed hard, tearing her gaze away and looking at the priest with a broken heart. "I... I do," Jennie whispered. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the priest declared. "You may kiss the bride." Marco pressed a brief kiss to Jennie's lips as the congregation erupted into applause. Jennie forced a hollow smile for the crowd. But as she turned to walk back up the aisle, her eyes darted back up to the balcony one last time. The shadows were empty. Lisa was gone. #jenlisa #fypシ #fyppppppppppppppppppppppp #fyp #fypage
