Here in the north US, usually in basement. In south US, usually in garage. Big houses here do have laundry rooms.

Here in Austria we have them in the bathroom when there's no laundry room and I always found it weird that the germans have them in the kitchen.

A lot of houses in American have laundry in a hallway closet, bathroom or if you lucky it has its own room. And yes some are in the kitchen.

Ive seen some that are a little off from the kitchen in US. But the ones in UK ive seen from TT are like where I’d usually see a dishwasher n US
