Reason doctors do that is ONE x-ray is safe but doctors have to do hundreds a day so if they would be in the room with you the doctors would get cancer

To be fair it’s about amt of exposure. If you were exposed multiple times a day like a doctor would it would cause cancer.

It’s just getting x-rayed once is safe but if you’re working there you don’t want to be x-rayed multiple times everyday cause that’s dangerous
