This is a situation where the leader/parent-figure needs to step in for both the dog and the child.⁣ ⁣ This dog is extremely tolerant of the child who is relentlessly hitting the dog.⁣ ⁣ The child clearly doesn’t know any better, so we can’t blame the child for their behavior.⁣ ⁣ The dog is showing extreme tolerance while being hit and trying to avoid the situation.⁣ ⁣ Where is the parent?⁣ ⁣ Is the parent filming?⁣ ⁣ Who knows, but someone needs to assume the leader/parent-figure position when it comes to the interaction of the dog and child.⁣ ⁣ We all know what happens if the dog defends itself in a more serious way to a child.⁣ ⁣ The dog gets blamed and is labeled the offender when, in reality, they are victim of no human standing up for them.⁣ ⁣ The child suffers the consequences of a physical injury and psychological trauma from an incident where a dog is defending itself.⁣ ⁣ Their is a huge lack of understanding and knowledge about leadership when it comes to both children and dogs.⁣ ⁣ So many dogs and children are put in situations where “the parents” lack responsibility, accountability, and the knowledge of how to lead in a calm/confident way, the way nature intended.⁣ ⁣ It’s not a coincidence that so many children struggle with anxiety, fear, frustration, and an inability to focus, while dogs struggle with the same issues.⁣ ⁣ There are tons of dog training methods and methods on how to raise children, but what’s hardly every talked about is the human leader/parent-figure.⁣ ⁣ Has that human dealt with their past and healed?⁣ ⁣ Do they have the ability to be calm and confident?⁣ ⁣ Do they know how to live in the moment, be present, and conscious?⁣ ⁣ Do they have the knowledge of how to lead a child or a dog?⁣ ⁣ This is of the utmost importance, yet it’s hardly ever discussed.⁣ ⁣ Why because it would require humans to look at themselves and take responsibility for their lives instead of blaming someone or something else, which, for whatever reason, is difficult for humans.⁣ ⁣ Speaking from someone who struggled with accountability until I realized looking at myself, taking responsibility for my life was the most empowering and freeing thing that has allowed me to lead my dogs, son, and family!
