You should never have to choose between keeping your job and enforcing your legal rights. Article 47 of the UAE Labour Law sends a clear message: if an employee is dismissed because they filed a genuine complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) or brought a successful legal claim against their employer, that dismissal is unlawful. If proven, the court may award compensation of up to three months’ wages, in addition to any other legal entitlements such as notice pay and end-of-service benefits.
