You know, when I was first given the opportunity to portray Jesus Christ in The Passion of the Christ, I knew it wasn’t just a role—it was a calling. And now, with The Resurrection, we step into the most profound moment in human history. This isn’t just a sequel. This is the fulfillment of everything Christ came to do. What does the Resurrection mean? It means everything. Without it, our faith is in vain. But with it, we have hope that transcends death itself. And when I think about portraying Christ again, I don’t approach this as an actor trying to “get it right”—because none of us are worthy to even attempt to capture His glory. Instead, I surrender. I let the Holy Spirit lead. The Holy Spirit is the breath of God, the fire that sets hearts ablaze. You see, when we read Scripture, we’re not just reading words on a page. The Holy Spirit is what makes them come alive in us. He’s the one who gives us the courage to walk in faith, the wisdom to understand the mysteries of God, and the strength to endure suffering for the sake of Christ. When Jesus walked this earth, He was fully man and fully God. And in His humanity, He showed us how to depend on the Spirit. He didn’t perform miracles out of His own will—He did only what the Father showed Him, through the power of the Spirit. So if Christ Himself lived in complete surrender to the Holy Spirit, how much more do we need to do the same? Portraying Jesus again is not about revisiting a past role. It’s about stepping into a deeper understanding of who He is. I pray constantly, “Lord, not my words, but Yours. Not my emotions, but Your Spirit.” And I believe that’s what this film is about—it’s not just a story; it’s an encounter. The Resurrection is the victory of God. It’s the proof that darkness does not win. That no matter what suffering, persecution, or trials we face, there is glory on the other side. The world right now is in desperate need of truth. It’s starving for hope. And The Resurrection is not just a film—it’s an invitation. An invitation for people to encounter the living Christ. So my prayer is that this film is not just something people watch but something they experience. That the Holy Spirit moves in their hearts, convicts them, transforms them, and reminds them that we serve a risen King. This is not mythology. This is not symbolism. This is truth. He is alive. And because He lives, we are free. God bless you all. #caviezel #poi #jamespatrickcaviezel #jimcaviezelove #therealjimcaviezel #soundoffreedommovie
