How to re-use your party blowers 🐘   I’ve shared my homemade party blowers on here before- using loo roll tubes and baking paper. They were almost perfect except for the fact you had to make your own noises!   So when my kids brought some shop bought ones home from a friend’s party, I combined my homemade method with the washed and cleaned tubes of the shop bought ones and they were so happy!   The sound distorts a bit after a wash (you have to dry them really, really well), and you have to roll them up again yourself after each use... But while they’re not perfect, they are kept out of landfill, either being used and enjoyed by my kids, or sitting in a box to be reused for our next party.   Here’s the method if you’d like to give them a go.   What you will need:   A used party blower Baking or parchment paper Tape Glue Scissors   Method:    1) Remove all the plastic and paper from your party blower and recycle/ dispose as appropriate, keeping the plastic noisemaker tube aside. 2) Wash and dry the noisemaker tube thoroughly (your tube really needs to be dry otherwise the sound won’t work!) 3) Cut a rectangle of baking paper and fold in half lengthways 4) Apply glue to the top edge of the inside of the folded rectangle, and down the right edge (but don’t glue the entire side – you need to leave space for the air to fill the tube when blown) 5) On the left side, place your dry noisemaker, and squeeze to hold in place 6) With your noisemaker sat snugly in the paper tube, fold the bottom of your paper tube up tightly (as seen in this video) 7) Then, secure your noisemaker in place by taping around the tube (try to use a compostable tape if you can, to keep this craft as green as possible)   Your re-used party blower is ready to use!   Let me know how you go with this craft, it was a hit with my kids! #sustainableplay #ecofriendlykids #diyparty
