it's not legally required for you to stay if you witness an accident, but its highly recommended, especially in situations like this.

This is the main reason I have a dash cam! I have had people try to do this to me. Minus a tiny little dash cam and cost me under $100.

yea honestly it's a law that if you witness an accident though weren't involved you're still in right to alert police and stay to give a statement.

Quite literally anytime I witness an accident I always stay. I check on the people involved, direct traffic if needed and give my statement.
