This tiny little person has completely changed my world. He’s changed my sleep. My routine. My priorities. My plans. Pretty much everything. There are days when I’m so tired I wonder how I’m functioning. And then he smiles at me. Or reaches for me. Or falls asleep on my chest. And suddenly I’m reminded that underneath all the exhaustion, there’s this enormous amount of love. The kind of love that makes you understand why you keep getting up at night. Why you can be completely exhausted and still respond when you hear that little cry. Why you can spend an hour settling them back to sleep and then just sit there watching them breathe. Motherhood is strange because the hardest parts and the most beautiful parts can exist at exactly the same time. I can be desperate for sleep and desperate to freeze time. I can wish for a break and miss him the second he’s not in my arms. I can complain about contact naps and then feel emotional when I realise one day he won’t want them anymore. And I think that’s why connection with other mums has become so important to me. Because there are so many women experiencing their own version of this. The exhaustion. The uncertainty. The joy. The loneliness. The overwhelming love. Different babies. Different stories. But somehow, so many of the same emotions. And sometimes seeing those little lights reminds me that I’m part of something much bigger than my own four walls. There are mums everywhere loving their babies today. Some are having an amazing day. Some are barely keeping up. Some are running on very little sleep. Some are cuddling their babies right now. And all of us are just doing our best. So today, I’m choosing to notice the good bits. The smiles. The cuddles. The tiny hands. The ridiculous little noises. The moments that make my heart hurt because I love him so much. Because yes, I’m tired. But I’m also incredibly lucky to be this tired for this little person. 💛 #newmom #momlife #postpartum #motherhood #momcommunity
