Today I start my Healthwise journey 💪❤️ Today is a really important day for me because I’m starting the Healthwise programme through the NHS. If you’ve never heard of Healthwise, it’s an NHS-supported health and exercise programme designed to help people make positive changes to their health, fitness and lifestyle. Depending on your local programme, it can include personalised exercise plans, assessments, support with lifestyle changes and guidance to help you become more active. It’s not something you simply sign up to like a normal gym membership. Healthwise programmes are generally accessed through a referral from a GP or other healthcare professional, depending on the scheme in your area. And while the programme itself is NHS-supported, you may still have to pay for your gym or leisure-centre membership. But honestly, you’re getting so much more than just access to a gym. You’re getting support, guidance, assessments and a programme designed around helping you improve your health and reach your goals. For me, this isn’t just about losing weight or getting fitter. My biggest goal is to get stronger. I want to build my strength and fitness enough that I can hopefully become strong enough to use my prosthetic leg 🦿❤️ After everything my body has been through, I know this is going to be challenging. But I’m ready to put the work in. This is about getting stronger, getting fitter, improving my confidence and hopefully getting back some of the independence and freedom I’ve missed. So here we go… Day 1 of my Healthwise journey. Let’s see what I can achieve! 💪❤️ #Healthwise #NHS #ProstheticJourney #FitnessJourney #NeverGiveUp
