I personally think that oiling the pole (with natural oil that wont hurt animals) is way funnier. that's like 3 hours of entertainment watching it 😆

You can also put some cayenne pepper (dried) mixed in the the seeds 🙂 that's what my grandma does. Doesn't hurt the birds!!

we ended up investing (because they are pricy) squirrel proof feeders, bc our tree rats figured our baffles out

we build little picnic tables for squirrels and put corn cobs on the tables so the squirrels leave the bird feeders alone

you can also attach a slinky to the top of the pole so that it runs down the length of the pole stand back and watch the magic happen
