Luckily you live in a time when old style details r appreciated again - many companies exist that recreate vintage molding etc or if $$ is an issue

You need to get the vinyl siding off the beautiful wood clapboard siding will be underneath. Then you can work on getting period pieces

I would restore the front porch and put the antique style diamond shaped shingles on the roof to give it that old world style

You would probably have to rebuild the porch to look like that but I’m sure the original siding in under the aluminum siding

My childhood home (1888) has vinyl siding over the original wood. Most homes that’s how they did it. Start by taking it off and see what you find!
